New Moon in Virgo: Routine Magic
Last night, I had a girl's night out with my friends. We've been planning this particular outing for about two years - there were things that needed to happen first, we all felt. We went to Cafe Sevilla and drank Sangria and ate Lamb kebabs, Paella and some amazing chocolate desserts that awed us. We laughed more joyously than any of us had for a long time. Kim has survived cancer (twice!), Sandi's divorce is almost complete, Sharon has a new boyfriend and my little business is starting to yield clients. Life feels hopeful -- and there's nothing like riding aro
New Moon in Sagittarius: Great Expectations
As I was pondering how to express what I want to say about Sagittarius season, I remembered a movie I had recently seen "The Legend of 1900". It's the story of an infant orphaned aboard a cruise ship, who spends his entire life on the ship. He becomes a virtuoso on the piano:
Full Moon in Taurus - Edgy Hopefulness
Last night, as I was returning home, I saw a man carrying a couple dozen multi-colored balloons down Prospect Street illuminated by the Full Moon rising in the East. The balloons took up the entire sidewalk, grinning folks stepped out onto the street to give way. Both benefic planets, Venus and Jupiter have been retrograde for awhile -- giving many of us the sense that our luck and prosperity was being delayed. Not anymore! Both planets have turned direct and we are urged to once again allow ourselves to fill our dreams and wishes with bouyant optimism. Taurus
New Moon in Scorpio: Cat in the Garage
We all have them, those disowned pieces of ourselves that like seemingly recalcitrant kitties manage to keep pissing all over our decorative new bed pillows. No matter what we've tried to stop them, the vet visits, the cuddles, the re-placed kitty litter boxes -- the ugliness continues. Until finally, we give up and disown them to the garage. We don't want to do this, we'd rather they integrated smoothly into our homes, but fear has set them on a new and destructive course of action.
Full Moon in Aries: Stay Bold
Once in a blue moon, we get two full moons in the same sign. It doesn't happen too often, and creates a energetic extra emphasis. Think of the full moon shouting "Just do it already!". Leap! Being still isn't really an option right now, we all have to stretch out of our comfort zones and inject some freshness into our lives. Many of us have done just exactly that in the past 28 days and may be waiting out results. Some of us are settling in to new initiatives and enjoying the changes in persective brought about by our recent leaps of fait
New Moon in Libra: Swing your partner, do-se-do
Remember square dancing in elementary school, that dizzying array of barked orders and the kaliedoscope of classmates awkwardly flailing around? The first few tries utter misery: no-one knows what they are doing, everyone's bumping into each other, the arms don't mesh up properly... But then there's this moment when the music, your current partner, the dance steps go from awkward-n-forced to ...
Full Moon in Aries: Boldly Go
If you listen closely, you can hear the message of the skies: "Carpe Diem... Seek out new life... Boldly go... ".
New Moon in Virgo: Revisiting Mercury Retrograde
Details, details! This week my vacuum refused to suck. My computer chair spontaneously fell apart. And dust allegies have been making the simple act of taking a breath a bit shlurpy. Such are the shenanigans of a new moon in Virgo during Mercury retrograde. The energy of noticing what is and isn't working in our lives is definitely up. Which means neglected details may be up for re-viewing. This may not feel pleasant, but we choose how we react to things. Reactivity vs responsible responsiveness are a recurring Mercury retrograde lesson.
Astrology shows you how Time is on your side
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
